They're brighter and you'll have to adjust the EQ on your amp, but once you do, they sound great. The downside is that you lose the signature sound of the rubber strings on the U-Bass. It now sounds more like a regular electric bass.

I resoldered the pickup connection and that fixed it. It broke when I changed strings so be careful. Cheap insides: battery mounted directly to circuit board, and pickup wire haphazardly routed. Finally, cheap, flimsy plastic tuners.
